In 2024, Notbug Studios has reached pivotal milestones that reflect both our resilience and ambition. In March, we pitched at GameBCN Demo Day in Barcelona, and emerged victorious, earning a coveted slot in the GameBCN 2024 accelerator. That achievement crowned months of relentless effort: late-night code sprints, iterative design reviews, and dozens of prototype playtests.
Overcoming Challenges and Learning to Pivot
Building a F2P mobile game is never a straight line. We faced technical hurdles (network instability in early builds), design dead-ends (reward loops that felt “empty”), and funding gaps that forced us to rethink priorities. Each obstacle taught us how to pivot swiftly: we streamlined our event calendars, rebalanced our in-game economy using real-time telemetry, and cut non-core features to focus on player engagement. Those hard lessons have shaped Notbug into a leaner, more data-driven team.
From Barcelona to Riyadh
Thanks to our GameBCN success, we’re now fully immersed in the Barcelona ecosystem—joining workshops, networking with international publishers, and refining our go-to-market strategy. But our ambitions don’t stop there: in June 2024, we were selected for Saudi Game Champions, an elite program in Riyadh that will connect us with global investors, mentors, and partners. This dual track—Europe’s vibrant indie scene and Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing gaming market—gives us a unique vantage point to shape truly global F2P experiences.
What’s Next
As we head into the second half of 2024, we continue iterating on our alpha build, rolling out bi-weekly events and deepening our LiveOps toolkit. We’re also laying the groundwork for our next round of seed funding, armed with the metrics and case studies we’ve amassed in Barcelona and Riyadh.
Our 2024 story is one of persistence, teamwork, and strategic pivots. From the Demo Day spotlight at GameBCN to the international stage of Saudi Game Champions, Notbug Studios is proving that with passion, data, and the right network, a small Chilean team can compete—and win—on the global F2P map.
